The Piatti Family
An old Italian noble family
The Piattis are an old Italian aristocratic family (“Marchese”), first documented in the 11th century.
For centuries, the family lived in northern Italy. During the Seven Years’ War, it held high government office at the Saxon court in Dresden.
In 1834, the family acquired the Loosdorf estate, and shortly afterwards Emperor Ferdinand I also elevated it to the rank of Austrian counts. Since 1834, the family has run a farming and forestry estate around Schloss Loosdorf.
